Phygital sports in Dubai

From August 26 to August 29, the United Arab Emirates hosted the first phygital hockey competition. Four teams participated in the tournament. Their rosters included ice hockey players from the UAE, Russia, Bahrain, Oman, Iran and other countries. 

Phygital hockey is a mix of esports and ice competitions. First, the participants compete in the NHL on Playstation, and then go out on the ice and identify the strongest in real hockey. The tournament of this format was held in the UAE for the first time.

The famous amateur ice hockey club Hors from Moscow won the competition. Bon Bola took the second place, and representatives of the local Dubai ice hockey Cyber Bedouins took the bronze.
