Recently, Luc Tardif, the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation visited Kuwait. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the country’s readiness to host the spring stage of the fourth division of the Ice Hockey World Championship in 2024.
Tardif has expressed confidence in the Winter Games Club, led by president Fuhaid Alajmi, to successfully organize the upcoming World Championship tournament in Kuwait next April. He commended the club’s excellent facilities and its professional technical and organizational staff.
During his three-day visit to Kuwait, Tardif highlighted the country’s strong commitment to developing the Olympic Winter Games, particularly in ice hockey. He noted the enthusiasm among Kuwaiti players, both male and female, at various age levels and expressed anticipation for significant international and continental championships to be hosted in Kuwait.
