On May 13, the group stage of the TATNEFT ADIHIC Cup ended in Kazan: The participants of Group A played three matches each, and Group B played two matches each.
The tournament started with the matches of Group A, where on the first game day Kazakhstan beat Kyrgyzstan (7:4), and Tatarstan defeated the combined team of Turkey, Mongolia and Lebanon (MIX TEAM) with a large score (12:3). In the only match of Group B, Azerbaijan was stronger than Bahrain (8:3).
On the second game day, Kyrgyzstan took revenge for a misfire in the first match of the tournament, leaving no chance for MIX TEAM (11:4). Tatarstan beat Kazakhstan in the meeting determining the leadership in Group A (5:1). In group B, Bahrain beat Iran in an effective match (7-4).
In the final match at the group stage, Kazakhstan coped with the MIX TEAM (9:3), securing the second place in the quartet A. Tatarstan completed its performance at the first stage of the tournament without losing points, defeating Kyrgyzstan (5:3). Azerbaijan won in Group B, defeating Iran on the third day (11:6).
The best scorer of the group stage was the striker of the Kyrgyz team, Mamed Seifulov, who scored 9 (6+3) points in three meetings. He also shares the lead in the sniper race with teammate Alexander Titov (6 goals each). The forward of the Tatarstan team, Aidar Miftakhov, leads in the number of assists (5).
On May 14, the TATNEFT ADIHIC Cup will continue with semi-final games. Tatarstan and MIX TEAM will meet on the main ice of Tatneft Arena at 11:00, and Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will meet at 15:00. The match between Bahrain and Iran will start on the small ice at 15:00.
