The Uzbekistan Ice Hockey Federation is engaged in the process of naturalizing eight Russian players of the Humo hockey club to participate in the 2025 Division IV World Championship as part of the national team.
In 2025, the national team of Uzbekistan will make its debut in Division IV at the World Cup, which will be held in Yerevan from April 13 to 19.
Vice-President of the Federation Bahodir Gafurov:
“Humo is the backbone of the national team, we have launched the naturalization process for about seven to eight Russian players and plan to continue this process in the future. This is necessary so that they can compete for our national team in 2025.”
To change his sports citizenship, a hockey player who has not previously played for any of the national teams must play in the national competitions of the country for which he plans to play for at least two seasons and 16 months in a row.
