The Galkan Ice Hockey Club, which represents the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, won the title of national champion for the 10th time in a row in the 10th anniversary season.
The championship of Turkmenistan was held for the first time in 2014, and Galkan once again confirmed the status of the permanent leader of the national championship.
The Oguzhan Ice Hockey Club, representing the Turkmengaz company, became the silver medalist of the tournament. The Shir Ice Hockey Club won the bronze medals of the championship.
Following the results of the tournament, Galkan representatives received individual awards: Kerimli Charyev was recognized as the best goalkeeper, Dovlet Khidyrov as the best defender, and Novruz Baykhanov as the best striker.
Recall that Galkan is the base club of the Turkmenistan national hockey team. Right now, the national team is actively preparing for the Asian Winter Games, which will be held in Harbin, China, from February 3 to 15. The national team of Turkmenistan will play in Group C, where its opponents will be the national teams of Hong Kong, India and Macau.
The first white-green match will be held on February 4, and they will face the Indian national team.
